What is TravelWise?
ACT TravelWise is the UK's premier network for all organisations working to promote sustainable travel formed by the merger of the National TravelWise Association (NTWA) and Association of Commuter Transport (ACT) in early 2008. Their vision is a society in which people and organisations can meet their travel needs in ways that protect and enhance the environment, improve public health and support community well-being. Their mission is to support their members in their work to promote sustainable travel through provision of first-class learning opportunities, partnership working, marketing support and networking events, all with a specific focus on building expertise and experience in travel planning and other cost-effective demand management measures.

This Residential TravelWise website has been developed to give local authorities and Residential Developments an easy-to-use facility to publish local and Residential Development Travel Plans onto the Internet. This enables both current and potential residents easy access these Travel Plans and other related information.

What are Residential Development Travel Plans?
Residential Development Travel Plans are a fundamental topic in the movement to promote sustainable transport. They gather together information, leads and ideas primarily for local authority officers, residents, residential developers and transport campaigners to promote different modes of transport to/from Residential Developments.

How do I sign up my Residential Development to the Residential TravelWise website?
You can sign up your Residential Development by going to the home page where a “Signup form" can be found near the bottom of the page. This will give you a development registration form to fill in.

What happens next?
Your district Residential Travel Adviser will be in touch with you to complete the registration process.

What information do I need to add to my Residential Development on the website?
You need to add information about your Residential Development, its position and postcode, your website address and general contact details, you can even add your own image and logo. You can add this image and logo through the content management system. Additionally you can add news, travel and amenity information and location of useful items, which are displayed on the map on the large map page. You can also upload your Travel Plan and site Prospectus.

How do I add this information about the Residential Development?

I want to add residents to my Residential Development TravelWise website?
From the Control Panel, click on manage residents, from here you can add and delete resident users. You will need to give them a name, contact phone number, email address (which will be used for their username) and password. To maintain user details, including passwords, access them through the Control Panel and click on manage residents.

Hint - this is where you reset a forgotten password.
